You know Zappers... those people or situations that just suck the life out of you. Meetings that drag on with no productive outcome. Friends or family that won't stop talking about blah blah blah....But it's tough to just walk away or out.
In the Soul Coaching 28 day program, we spend quite a bit of time understanding how to mitigate those zappers in our lives and more importantly..bring in more Juicers. You know Juicers...those people of situations that just give you joy! Maybe attending a live performance, or holding your child or being quiet in nature. (See Forest Bathing above) All those things that make your life wonderful.
I recently held a Self-Compassion and Compassion workshop that showed me a different approach to Zappers. Yes...some are so zapping that you have to walk away but what if we send love instead. From the Buddhist tradition - say - may you be happy and free from suffering. Say it over and over again. It is amazing the shift it causes in YOU. It may or may not alter the other person. But if you can be in a more peaceful and loving place, the zap doesn't sting as much. Try it and let me know what happens.
